We had another very successful lecture in the Footsteps to Freedom Winter Lecture Series by Dr Gerry Adlard, provocatively entitled: Slumming it in Cape Town: the history, challenges and prospects for accommodating poor black people in an affluent white city. 

One point to emerge was that we need to base our development decisions on sometimes sketchy data. As tourist guides, we should need to base our tour narrative on the best available data.
